We left last Wednesday to head down to Boerne, Texas (in the hill country north of San Antonio)to spend some time with Dan's family celebrating his parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Unfortunately, it started pretty rough with some travel delays at both the Birmingham and Dallas airports.

American Airlines ending up cancelling our last leg (Dallas to San Antonio) after the flight had been delayed for almost 4 hours. We ended up renting a car and driving it to Dan's parents, then switching the next day for our already reserved SUV at the San Antonio Airport. We spent two days spending time with Pop and Gigi (Dan's parents) before we all headed to Concan, Texas where we met Dan's brothers and sisters and their families where we all stayed at the Frio River Cabins.

We had a wonderful time with all the family members. Desmond had a blast playing with his cousins. There was baseball, washers (like horseshoes), horseshoes, Nintendo (at night in Aunt Cathy's cabin), and playing at the river. Desmond enjoyed playing at the river, skipping rocks and the like, but he didn't enjoy the floating down the river part (he just didn't have enough body fat to keep his body temperature at a comfortable level). However, it was hard to get Max out of the water! I think he would've floated all day long.

Every morning we would meet at Ben and Beth's cabin for breakfast, then head down to the river for a two-hour float down the river. Beth had all the meals planned and we had such a great time eating all our meals together -- all 25 of us!

Lauren really enjoyed her time with her youngest cousin, Natalie (Annie and Kevin's daughter).
