It is closing in on the end of the school year and it seems they are squeezing in the last bit of fun before it is over – the school year, not the fun! Lauren and I joined Max and the rest of the sixth graders at his school on a quick field trip to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham. Lauren thought it was very chaotic with a multitude of school children filling the halls.
We usually go a few times a year, but Max never tires of the place. That is why I found a great deal by joining a center that is a participating member of the ASTC Passport Program. We joined the South Dakota Discover Center for $40/year and are able to use it at any of the other centers as long as they are at least 90 miles from the center we join. That gave us a $50/year membership fee savings and we can go as often as we like (it would cost our family $50 to go once/year for just the general admission cost). Check it out for your area and find yourself a good deal!
