victorious vbs

Aaaaahhhhhhh. That is the sound of ME knowing that Vacation Bible School is finished for this year! This picture was taken near the end of Day 1, which is the toughest day where we are working out the kinks. I was whooped.

Now, it isn't that I don't totally love VBS, but it takes so much out of me -- preparing for months in advance. This year was great, though. We had over 150 children come to learn how to be 'special agents on a mission for God' and, get this, over 125 adult and youth helpers!!! I think I am finally getting this delegation thing. That has always been my downfall...not being able to give up total control. This year I learned that I must delegate to handle this many children. It made the whole week go so smoothly. I had the best helpers, too:)

Each night, the children made beaded glow-in-the-dark strings for a d-clip with the daily mission (trust, train, unite, lead, follow). My friends and I searched Wal-Marts from all over Alabama and even in Georgia to find those glow-in-the-dark mini-beads -- they apparantly are being discontinued, but that meant they were on clearance, too! Yay! LOL! Desmond is showing his off here.

Now to start the wait to see what the VBS themes for next year will be. Most of the publishers will announce in July. I LOVE VBS!!
