This is the last week day of Spring Break and we finally had a pretty day, so we talked Dan into playing hooky from work and join us on a quick trip to Birmingham. I forgot my camera, but Lauren saved the day when she found hers in her purse, so I was able to get proof that we made it to our first stop, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Even though the sun was out, it was still a bit nippy, so we only made it through the Japanese Gardens and the Conservatory before deciding to find somewhere 'inside' to visit. But, we will be back again when the mercury rises a bit. Oh, and I forgot to add that admission is free:)Dan and I knew the perfect solution -- lunch at P.F. Changs! We made a quick stop to Johnny Rockets for chicken fingers, french fries, and milkshakes for the boys since they don't eat Asian food. We brought it right in with us to P.F. Changs without a problem while Dan, Lauren and I ate the REAL food! After lunch, Dan took the boys to the Apple Store while Lauren and I window shopped at Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, and Urban Outfitters.
When we finished window shopping, we all met up and headed to our final destination -- Whole Foods. I love that store and wish we had one closer than a 90-mile trip to Birmingham. After we loaded up on our organic bounty, we headed back home.
A good day was had by all.
