a day of gratitude - day 9

What can I say? Pretty much everything about Sundays are things to be grateful for. Sunday is my favorite day of the week!

I am grateful that Shannon asked if we would pick her up for church. I count it a blessing to minister to her. I am grateful to be a part of the band -- to have the opportunity to both use my talents to lead worship and to hone my skills at the same time. Praise God!

I am grateful for Craig -- my pastor, my supervisor, my friend. I am thankful that he is a pastor who follows the lead of the Lord in regards to what he teaches and preaches. He had a whole other sermon planned for this day (his annual "State of the Church" message). But, God led him elsewhere and I am so glad. His message was on "The Perspective of Job" and how we should always "bless the name of the Lord" in everything that happens in our lives. It was one of those sermons where you get to the end and cannot believe it is already time for it to be over, one where you never catch yourself counting the ceiling tiles, or making a grocery list in your mind. It was the real thing. Praise God!

I am grateful for workers who decide they don't want to work anymore and are willing to tell me straight up, not make excuses over and over until a program falls apart. I didn't actually have one of these workers today, though...I had one of the type that just make excuses over an over. But, it made me realize how blessed I was to have those that own up to their abilities (or lack thereof) and let me know. But, it all works out in the end. I realize now that I need to have a more hands-on relationship with some of the programs. Praise God!

I am grateful for 3 very special women who give of their time to meet with me each week to help hold me accountable in various areas of my life. Praise God!
