olympics for nerds, er, geeks?

Lauren went to the regional Science Olympiad today with two teams from her high school. She and her brainiac cohorts set off for Tuscaloosa at O-dark-thirty this morning (also known at 5:30 am). Fortunately (for me!), Dan was the lucky parent who was so fortunate to accompany her to meet the bus. Yes, Lauren is 17. Yes, Lauren has her driver's license. Yes, Lauren even has her own car. But, Lauren just doesn't.like.to.drive. Go figure.

Anyway, back to the story. She competed in several events...5-Star Science and Disease Detective are two I can recall (will check later and update). She and her partner won 3rd place in Disease Detective and she came home with a new medal.

I love that girl.
