Last weekend, Max had his first overnight campout with his Cub Scout Troop (the Bears of Pack 50). We all went (except for Lauren) to Gunter Hill Campgrounds on Friday evening and set up our tent. Max and Desi rode their bikes with the other 'early bird' boys who showed up Friday, too. On Saturday, the leaders set up an obstacle course and the boys had a blast. Desi had his first end of season tournament baseball game, so Dan took him back home for the game while I stayed with Max. I spent most of my time sitting by the tent making sample crafts for my VBS training meeting Sunday afternoon.

During the afternoon, the leaders set up an obstacle course for the boys that included a zip line. I think that was Max's favorite part! That night they held their awards and bridging ceremony. Dan, Lauren and Desi got back just in time for Dan to stand up with Max to receive his Bear rank. Max then joined his den as they bridged over to become webelos.
The weather was perfect for camping. It has been about 12 years since I had camped and it was not a pleasant experience (July in Arkansas!). This was better than expected, but I think I am still more of a B&B gal;)
