braces for the boy
Today was "braces on" day for Max at Dr. Dunn's office. He had spacers put in last week to prepare and he had been a little hesitant about the whole ordeal (which is to be expected). But, he seems to have gotten past the apprehension and he did great this morning. They put on the bottom braces and measured for an appliance for the roof of his mouth to help move some of his upper teeth. Lauren had the same thing. Once those teeth move, they will put the upper brackets on.
It took about two hours, so I was able to run home and make him a big batch of pumpkin bread to get through the pain of the first days. It is great just being a minute from the orthodontist's office!

Pumpkin bread is awesome! That will make him feel better for sure!
He was so proud of them last night. He came up to me smiling and I couldn't figure out what he was doing and then I realized he got his braces. He had to tell me all about it.
