life at this moment

I thought I had figured out a schedule to keep up better with my blogging, but it obviously didn’t.  I figured I could, at least, do the LATM.  So, here goes.

Plans for the 4th of July, what are you doing?
Since the fourth is on a Sunday this year, I will start the day at church.  I am scheduled to speak this particular Sunday, so I have the wonderful opportunity of being at church for both services.  For the past few years, we have joined my friend, Barb, and her extended family at Lake Martin on the fourth. So, we will leave immediately from the late Worship service and head to the lake for an afternoon eating and spending time with our friends at the lake.  I hope we have a pretty day!

I'm listening to....
At this moment, Alton Brown is on the television telling me how to make peppered vodka.   No, I do not drink peppered vodka, or even plain vodka.  But, since the Food Network is one of the few channels that are family-friendly at this time of night, I get to hear Alton.

I'm reading....
I am still reading through the Psalms (from the B-I-B-L-E) right now.  It seems like it just goes back and forth between David telling how horrible his life is, and how all these people hate him, to how wonderful God is.  He shares the good, then the bad, then the good, then the bad.  I guess that is how life is now, too.

I'm thinking about...
I am thinking about what I could share about at church in eight days.  Really, I am thinking “what in the world did I get myself into”.  And, I am thinking I should be working on that instead of this blog post.

I'm inspired by...
People.  Yes, that sounds kind of generic, but that is how I have been inspired this past week.  Old people, young people, local people, distant people, blonde people, brunette people, slender white people, little brown people.  Yes, people.  They inspire me.

5 favorite links of this week...
1. Yikes! I've been using Splenda for years and did not know this -- check out The Food Renegade.
2. Support Haitian women -- buy a  purse or have a purse party at Haitian Creations.
3. Passport for Missions -- fun craft to encourage a mission-minded child (and adult!).
4. Turning charity upside down (per Shaun Groves)
5.  Kindra Arnesan from Venice, LA on the oil spill

Picture of the Week...
(note: this doesn't actually have to be a picture from this week. that would be way too difficult here.)

This is the mission team that I am a part of that will be traveling to Zambia in mid-July. Please pray for us!

Come on over to Not Your Everyday Cinderella and tell us about your life at this moment:)
