The sermon-series at Mulder Church during July was SERVE! real stories from mulder. I was asked to give my testimony on service, as part of the sermon, on July 4. When I was first asked, I was a little hesitant about speaking in front of everyone. You might think that strange if you know that I am regularly on the stage helping to lead worship. It has always been easier for me to sing in public than to speak in public, unless I am only with children. But, I felt that tugging from the Lord that I was supposed to accept this opportunity -- so, I did.
Once I sat down to organize my thoughts, I knew immediately that everything was in God's hands. Words came quickly and easily and I knew that it was not coming from me, but from Him. When it came time to speak, I was not afraid. It was one of the most freeing experiences of my life and brought me joy. That, too, could have only come from God.
If you would like to hear the sermon that day, including my testimony, just click HERE (my testimony begins around the 18:00 point).
Then, two weeks later, my daughter, Lauren, was given the opportunity to share her own story of service. I am very proud of her and how she is heeding the Lord's call in her life. Please take a moment to watch this video I took of her speaking to the congregation on July 18.
Now, go and serve!
