May always seems to be one of the busiest months of the year for our family. I guess it stems from the the combination of baseball season, end-of-the-school-year (EOSY) activities, and VBS planning. This year's EOSY have been even busier since we now have three children in the school system plus the addition of graduation activities.
I remember back in the day when I used to make homemade teacher gifts and serve as room mother and plan all the EOSY parties. But, with an added part-time job (that is almost full-time in May) and having 3 children involved, those things just do not happen anymore. I have twinges of guilt, but convince myself that I have "done my time" and that there are other parents to fill in the gaps now. Life goes on.
This month I have also have a boatload of doctor's appointments and medical mini-issues. Last night I had another sleep study to determine if my CPAP pressure needed to be adjusted (which it did) and Monday I have an appointment with a cardiologist to determine if I need to wear a monitor to figure out why I am having some type of palpitations. Personally, I think they are stress-related and are more of a side-effect from nerves, not my heart. But, my very thorough primary care physician wants me to have it checked just in case.
Next Tuesday is Max's Honors Day in the morning and Lauren's Graduation at night. Wednesday includes Desmond's Kindergarten Program followed by class cookout ~and~ Max's Class Party which is going to be at the Municipal Park (ballfields) with another cookout. Lauren is going to join me for those festivities.
Yes, it is a mad, mad, mad, mad world.
