yes, it’s mama’s day!

This is my 21st year of motherhood (I was pregnant this time in 1990…I count that as part of my motherhood!).  I still remember how much it meant to me when Dan gave me a Mother’s Day card when I was pregnant with Lauren.

This morning, Lauren gave me a coupon book that she made with little humorous coupons, like "Permission to ask me to do my laundry and I can't complain:)".  Last night, she and the boys were recording a rap for me (while Dan and I were out), but they had some technical difficulties and it accidentally mothersday 041got deleted during production/editing:( However, they did sing a few parts they remembered while we were at the park today…it was too funny!

We started our day with worship, then came home to change clothes before heading out for our picnic. For the past several years, we have stopped by Fresh Market (or the like) for some munchies and head out to the Blount Cultural Park at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival Park (or, Children’s Harbor and Windcreek Park on Lake Martin, as we did for a change in 2010).  It was a beautiful day for a picnic.  We ate a lot of food and played a little frisbee.

I am a very blessed woman.  I love my husband.  I love my children.  I love my God.

"The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them."
Proverbs 20:7 (NLT)
