(12.7.10: I found these posts that I had written after my first Deeper Still Conference in 2008. I never published them. Since I just returned from my second Deeper Still Conference and am about to start a post on it, I decided to publish these now. Should have done it sooner!)
Expect the unexpected! Pitch your tent, sister -- don't miss out on anything from God!
We have a divine personal invitation from God. How did the Lord prepare the Israelites for this divine invitation?
context: Exodus 19:1-2 ~ in the wilderness -- that is where intimacy is ignited...where they are brought face-to-face with God. God is with you on the way through the wildnerness. God chose the wilderness.
When we are flat on our back, all we can do is look up. Are we going to let the wilderness bring us nearer to God or farther from him?
Hosea 6:1-3: Encouragement from the Lord.
God is the only one to deliver us from ourselves. We are completely free because He delivers us!
This is what God does for us:
1. verse 3-4: Remember what is done on their behalf (delivers, lifts up , and draws near)
2. vers 5-6: Recognize their identity (be a people for his own possession. Be a holy nation and royal priesthood. Only God has a right to labvel us. 1 Peter 2:9 says You are a chosen race, for God's own possesion.
3. verse 7-8: Submit to new levels of Surrender (a call to practical obedience).
4. Listen to God.
How will we respond to this invitation?
