a day of gratitude - day 2

Things of this day that I am grateful for:

1. A wonderful day of Praise and hearing of the Word during our church service this morning. Mark J's message today was Jesus Loves Me, which was based upon the well-know children's hymn, the woman who wrote the lyrics, and the man who wrote the music. He is such a gifted teacher who speaks from his heart. I feel so blessed that the Lord brought him to our congregation to join in our pastoral staff. We had some rockin' music followed up with little Seth leading the congregation in a wonderful version of Jesus Loves Me.

2. Our close friends, Jack and Vicki, invited us to join their family for lunch. We had a wonderful time sharing our meal (excellend barbecue) and conversation.

3. Jack and Vicki and family ended up at our home after lunch due to dangerous weather. They stayed with us, watching the weather on the television, waiting for it to be safe for them to return to the road to head home. Unfortunately, we saw that the area Vicki's parents live in was hit very hard with a tornado. Vicki was unable to contact her family and was very frightened. I am grateful that we finally were able to contact one of her parent's neighbors who verified there was no damage to her parents home.
