Today was the first day I scheduled to start filling easter eggs for the hunt on March 16. I announced it through the church newsletter and in the bulletin.
I was the only one to show up.
You would think I would learn from experience. People do not show up to help unless I call them and ask them personally. I have had great response in the past when I did that. I guess I just figured everyone could read. But, I guess they assume someone else will show up and that they really are not needed. I learned my lesson. I am making personal phone calls before the next scheduled 'fill day', next Monday.
My gratitude? My sweet, precious daughter showed up to help when she finished school early (the last half hour of the 2 hour time scheduled). She helped me find a stopping point and put everything away. Then we went out for lunch together. I know I have said it before, but I will say it again. I love that girl.
