What a wonderful morning of worshipping the Lord today. This may possibly be the last Sunday that we hold our regular Sunday morning worship services in Carter Hall. Craig's sermon today really put it all in perspective for me. I had not taken the time to truly realize how different it will be when the new Worship Center is complete. Carter Hall (previously known as the Multipurpose Room before the church renamed it after our pastor a few years ago) has been the place I have worshipped in since October 2001. I have spent many hours on the stage either singing with the choir, with the former Praise Team, with the current Praise Band, with friends, or by myself. It was the place where my daughter was baptized. There are so many more memories of times in that room.
But, as Bob Dylan sang, the times, they are a changin'. Our congregation is exploding. We are bursting at the seams in Carter Hall and it is time to move on to a place where we can continue to meet the needs of this community.
I am excited. I am a little afraid. I am very grateful.
