opening day

Today was the opening day for the 2008 season of Wetumpka Dixie League Baseball. Desi was again drafted by Coach Brian to play for the Tire Pro Yankees. We were blessed with a beautiful spring day to celebrate the beginning of the baseball season. Some facts of the day:

1. We were the first team to play on the field this season.
2. Desi was the first at bat.
3. Desi had the first hit of the game.
4. Desi had the first run of the game.
5. Desi got on base each time he was up at bat.
5. Desi was the one to get the last person out on the other team to win the game.

We had a great day of hitting, but did not get many opportunities for fielding since the other team had a hard time hitting. We ended up winning the game 6-1. We also celebrated Coach Brian's 40th birthday by throwing ice on him!
